Can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive hub or switch for
2-3 pc's and a cable modem. CompUSA had sale this week on LynkSys switch for $100. Seems too cheap to me can anyone share their experiences

TIA
Stacy

peter, mark, Dan, and Kitskid,

Thanks for the links and ideas. Glad I asked!

I was thinking about running some network cable in the walls and putting in outlets, like phone jacks. I suppose the solid cable (the stiff kind) would be OK for this since it would be stationary and out of the way. But check this out: buy.com sells 250, 500 and 1000ft rolls of the stranded (flexible) type in blue gray and white.

At 250ft it's 14c/ft: buy.com

A 5pk of pre-made 25ft cables in assorted colors is 10c/ft (good deal!): buy.com

Or you can get a single 25, 50 or 100ft stranded pre-made cable for about 15-20c/ft: buy.com

Dan: what makes it harder to put the ends on the stranded cable?
