Some thoughts on today's selloff - WAY OVERDONE.

I think so too. Right at the end of the day (the last five minutes) Intel traded up nearly a point from the lows in Very Large Chunks. I watched the bid sizes as reported by Datek's real-time "streamer" and saw many instances of 400,000 and 500,000 shares bid as the stock rapidly recovered. Unfortunately the sizes of the actual fills is not available.

However...

Monday is the last trading day of the month and the time for fund window dressing is nigh.

What if the funds want to show less tech in end-of-month reports? I agree this isn't as big an issue as end-of-quarter reports...

Barry, I think they're all waiting for Tuesday now, even talk of a 50 basis point hike. I think Greenspan likes gradual bumps, though. Inflation is non-existent but Alan is looking at the hand he got dealt this morning. Paradox that the whole world looking healthy now is perceived as maybe a bad thing WRT inflation.

I was thinking about Osha also. his predecessor Kurlak got walking papers (probably) because he kept advising the ML sales force against Intel, while the stock kept going up. Now Osha is doing the same with indications looking like a sold out quarter. Career limiting move for Osha? When will they ever learn. There are certain stocks that people want to be told to buy, and Intel is one of them. Jimmy Mac called them a Wall Street darling. We'll see.

Tony

Jacques,

It appears I did get two in a row. <gg>

From the 94 ask on Island on Friday, we opened at 98 3/8, went as low as 96 5/8, bid at the close was 101 3/8 and last sale on Island was 101.

Someone please tell Bearton Biggs to go back to Montana into hibernation.

John - I have to wonder if Brinker, who likes INTC as a trading stock, made this quick 7.5% one day gain.

Barry
