Amazon.com will fire 150 people -- roughly 2 percent of its work force -- as part of a reorganization, a Seattle TV station reported late Thursday.

Amazon had no immediate comment on the report, but KING-TV said the layoffs would probably be in the distribution area, which employs most of the company's 4,000 workers.

Wall Street is expected to react favorably to the move, since Amazon, under its CEO Jeff Bezos, has never been renowned for its fiscal discipline.

"It will be considered a positive because Bezos doesn't run a tight ship," analyst Dan Ries told MSNBC. "He goes for home runs and vision and spending isn't his concern as much as the market would like to see. It could be seen that he's finally listening to the Street."

Ries said he expects the cuts to come in the distribution sector, since Amazon.com has been automating a lot of those jobs anyway.
Bezos is restructuring. Of the 4000 employees he lays off only 150???. After hiring 1500 for the xmas rush?
What's he waiting for! Easter?
Ps
Cisco reports next week. After that you'll probably get your CMGI.
