>>As for calling Maria "Ferret" I've watched those budweiser commercials and the
only difference to me is the hair cut and the eyes. This is not a nasty insult but a
fact of life that many people resemble or sound like certain animals and at least
warrant the nick-name, e.g., Mark Haines - Bull Dog, Kathleen Hayes - Coyote, Ron
Insana - Jackel, Liz Clayburn - Beaver, Joe Kernan - The Bull, David Faber - The
Bear and last but not least our beloved Maria - Ferret-O-rama.<<

LOL! I'm glad my husband and I aren't the only ones who noticed "Beaver"....

And another thing! The on air "personalities" use nick names all the time on each other! Of course they refer to themselves as "the Brain", "the Kahuna", Hair Force One, Bond "Babe" Haines used to be called "Darth" (as in Vader)....so basically I think they've set themselves up for this type of lampooning.

Definitely. I even remember a year or so ago, when CNBC itself was putting pictures of various breeds of dogs up on the screen, and asking people which one resembled Mark Haines... So what is so bad about a ferret???

Free speech should prevail here in this case, or it is just one more stitch woven into the handbasket to hell they will all be taking us in...

Oh man, do I ever miss FNN and Leibe Geft and the others (Ed Hart for one), who seriously tried to educate the viewing public in many different ways. In fact, if it was'nt for them, I probably would never have become so interested in the markets. Yogi
