Ron and Thread,

Thanks for the Nikon imformation, Ron.

I stopped by BestBuy today and spoke with one of the sales guys. The CompactFlash rack was rather "picked over" and they sold their entire inventory of practically every digital camera. Many cameras in the diplay for sale were the display models as inventory is low while new models are being released and old models are phased out and not replaced.

The Olympus C2000 and C2020 were the only ones that lagged.
He said, "I mean, this is like a $900 dollar camera when all is said and done. Kodak did just great with many cameras priced to sell."

Our local BestBuy carries a complete SanDisk digital camera kit with a 16 MB card (CF or SM), an ImageMate reader, a carrying case and other extras.

Also, they are prominently displaying the latest HP and Casio handhelds with mp3 capability. One of the store clerks just bought the HP device and an 80 MB CompactFlash card. They also had the 32MB and 64MB Lyra players on display.

Seems like we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Ron and Thread,

3.34 MPixel (2048x1536 image resolution)
The next in the evolution of Nikon!

Noticed that the spec sheet implied that the IBM Microdrive will not be accomodated. Our discussion here a few months back seems to have been right on target, fellas.
