Receivables would go up as well and it seems to not be the case, but to be honest, it could and can happen in any biz.

Skeeter may be right.

Stuffing the channel doesn't show up as an inventory buildup -- it shows up as an increase in A/R and QCOM's A/R rose by 13% sequentially. I don't know if this represents channel stuffing because I don't know the seasonality factors, but that is quite an increase in receivables.

eugene, it is called logical deduction. qpe, q/sony's subsidiary has all but shut down. the release this year was much, much worse than ever before - before they released the last 30% of their work force. kyocera essentially decided to shut it down for all intents and purposes.

why? nobody wants cell phones anymore? doubtful. excessive inventory buildup that needs to be built up - probable. q isn't selling nearly as many asics to qpe/kyocera this q and it WILL significantly put the damper on profits during the current q.

call q investor relations and ask them, "how many cell phones are sitting in q, qpe or kyocera warehouses waiting to be sold" and see if they answer.

kyocera doesn't have a vested self interest in manipulating qpe for the benefit of q. q did. and it is probable they used it to their best advantage. game over now, though.

2+2 normally equals 4 in my world.

not all is well in qcom land...
