Sorry Lindy. I was not referring to myself at all. I will not be selling stock until 2001 or 2002, that is if my wife and I decide to start a family or move to a different location. I definetly have a long term horizon for my(our) holdings. I am not a strict GGamer. I guess I could consider taking some profit, but that would have to come about in the following manner:
1)stock is near highs(and I want to reduce portfolio position % and knowing me buy some other silverback/shiny pebble to diversify).
2) revenue and earnings are not looking so good any longer.
3) I also have sold any stock that the SEC begins investigating for better or worse(TYCO).
4) my willingness not to pay a cap gain to US GOV, especially short term.
5)I am where I am in life through hard work, and when I read my first investment books back in 1991, it said "don't ever invest money in stocks you can't afford to lose". So my situation is more like when I/we get "extra" money, it goes into the Gorilla/shiny pebble.
I must say that the reason I am not a strict GGamer is because I did not know about it until last year. I have the gg manual as well as how does my wife put it " the Tornado book" LOL
I must also admit that my investment knowledge is up 15X for the last six months thanks to Uncle Frank's thread as well as all the contributors.
