Yah! That's right! I forgot that, in Sanskrit. Learned that while studying Indian architecture.

It is, visually very interesting. Potent. Motion, direction, strength, growth ~ "complex" ~ as you said mandalic.

As I recall it is very sacred in (Navajo/Hopi) sand painting et al.

Very unfortunate its usurpation. Worth contemplating in it's previous contexts, to get a feeling.

Not difficult to grasp, but deep.

I have old jewelry with the Swastika on it. Of course I can't WEAR it. But it was very cool in the 20's- and of course the Native American people's used it- here's some history. Don't know if it's accurate- but I have pre 1920 jewelry from all over the world using the symbol.
