Intel raised the voltage of the Katmai (0.25u Pentium III) from 2.0V to 2.05V in order to drive the frequency from 550 to 600 MHz. No biggie, just five-hundreths of a volt, although the voltage hike did signal the last of the Katmai line of processors.

There was a little scare about unstable Pentium III 600 CPU's, but that scare came from Tom's Hardware Guide who was trying to overclock them. I once built a system using the PIII 600 a month after its release, and I ran into absolutely no stability problems whatsoever, despite the increased voltage.
