QUALCOMM clearly will benefit from trends in the industry that are currently taking place in the background.I recently attended Telecom 2000 which was sponsored by QUALCOMM and The San Diego Telecom Association. There are a lot of exciting things happening that will cause recent problems with component shortages to eventually go away. The trend will be to engineer more integration into the cell phones silicon board eliminating things like soft filters which are currently in short supply. The integration of chips onto other chips will decrease shortages and promote better power management prolonging battery life.Other r things that We will see come to pass include branded phones. One will not go to there carrier provider to buy a phone but rather will go to places like Starbucks,Macy's and Nordstroms to name a few and buy a phone with there name brand on the phone. The Starbucks branded phone will be used to call ahead prior to arrival and order a Cappuccino so you don't wait in line.Phones won't look like they do now they will be high fashion or will be built into your cars dash board able to be pulled out and taken with you and will have a cool look and feel to them. The best part they will contain QUALCOMM's technology no matter who makes them.High Data Rate the new technology will roll out in Japan after trials and take the market by storm as data transmission becomes more and more excepted by the consumer.Have a nice day!

In addition, I am being interviewed Monday by Smart Money magazine who will do an article devoted to investors who have hung in there from early on and have had their lives changed by Qualcomm riches.
I believe it will be printed in March.

I hope it's a good article, but being a journalist of longstanding myself, I can tell you that the whole point is a news hook--whatever gets the most blood out of a story, the journalist and editor go for that. My hunch is this will not be a puff piece on QCOM. It will be a piece on the mo-mo stock of the decade and it's highs and lows. That's where the story is. Along iwth the future of wireless and the other competitors etc.
