a year ago i was at an annual meeting of a junior biotech stock trading at a buck canadian. a teacher wanted to invest some money. he sent the broker a cheque for $ 22k canadian to buy trp (the yield was a yummy 5 % or so). the $ 22k is now worth $ 11k. had he bought the biotech the $ 22k would be worth 60k...

how people convince themselves that they'll sleep better with dividend paying stocks is beyond me.

that said, i don't want to diss your suggestion. thanks for it and i'll investigate !
