Hello Everyone, Things are really fine here in sunny California as the temperatures eclipse in the mid seventy's.We Californians are not the only ones who have noticed the great weather and great companies evolving in the Wireless Valley here in San Diego.Money Magazine probably the largest read national financial magazine in the states has zeroed in on QUALCOMM.Money looked at San Diego and QUALCOMM and looked a little harder in order to find the early individual investors who called it right and found comradery on the Silicon Investor thread "QUALCOMM COMING INTO THE BUY RANGE" and the other SI QUALCOMM threads. My name has been GO*QCOM for years and Money Magazine zeroed in on it.Money called me and other early starters in QCOM and asked if we could be available for lunch and an a interview.Six of us showed up and had lunch with the magazine and as they asked us individually how we came to know and love QUALCOMM.They told us something we already knew that QCOM was the biggest story of the year in 1999.They went on to say that they would be back in contact. No sooner then I get home another magazine called Smartmoney called for an interview.Wow I said to Gina this is amazing now they want to do a story. The next day Money called back and said they learned that the "other" magazine was trying to move in on the story and urged us not to talk to them.I laughed and exclaimed well I will try to dodge them but if they wanted to talk to us as well I can't stop them from getting a story. The next day I get more calls from Money that they were going to use this story as there big cover story in the March issue and that they wanted to put me on the cover of the magazine.Minutes later there photographers called and said that they were flying immediately out from New York ( where Money Magazine is located ) and would be renting a room at the Hotel Del Coronado (SD nicest hotel ) and would be doing a photo shoot there and asked me to come Saturday. The next day wardrobe from the Magazine called and asked for clothing sizes and said they would be handling dressing us.Gina will also be involved in some shots inside the magazine.Needless to say we are amazed at all the attention that all this is bringing. My feeling is that I have an opportunity to represent QUALCOMM as the company to be invested in from the perspective of the individual investor.Any way I will let you know more later but I do know that the magazine will be out middle of February and it is the March issue of Money Magazine. Also Money Magazine told me that Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones has been a big investor in QUALCOMM.Incredible isn't it !

GO,

<< Greg Powers is involved as was Ramsey Sue, myself >>

I knew that Ramsey and you were involved in the story. I did not realize that Gregg was. It will be a good read. It will be nostalgic for me. I used SI for business research in wireless telecom for about a year before I became a paying posting member in late 97 and "Coming" and the Nokia thread along with Kopin's and Security Dynamics were the first threads I read. I read all of the first 25,000 posts on "Coming", skimmed many since, but I ran out of bandwidth so now just tune in on "S&P" & kick back on mQ's thread.

I am looking forward with eager anticipation to see what comes out of Q''s participation in the GSM World Congress next week.

Sorry to keep belaboring this,b ut if I were the journalist writing the story I would definitely have sighed in disbelief in order to get more and better quotes out of you, not to get anything dishonest, but simply to get you to wax as eloquent as possible, to get the maximum drama of your amazing good fortune todl in yoru own excited words, and I would indeed tell that story--but I'd also go find equally upsetting stories of margin calls etc. It's the nature of the trade, of good storytelling. (Uncle Frank is probably cringing as he reads this--he doesn't trust me anyway because I'm a writer--but remember folks, I decided not to write about SI for just this reason). I'll be shocked if they only tell the good stuff.

All in all it will probably be fairly positive, but it sounds as if they're focussing on the investors and what happened to them. It sounds like a human interest story. Are they also looking at the fundamentals of wireless? (Never did think much of Money Magazine as actual stock guidance anyway. It's not IBD)
