Robert Stewart: Regarding Legato, the slew of lawsuits are of no concern to me. Every stock that has a significant drop in price, regardless of cause, is usually hit with a series of these nonsensical suits from unethical law firms trying to make an easy dollar. Unfortunately, it has now become part of the Wall St. landscape and I invariably ignore them (unless, of course, there are serious allegations of fraud or illegal accounting practices). This is not the case with LGTO. Their change in accounting was voluntary and at the request of their accountants and, as far as I know, there are no allegations of wrongdoing. Their business is intact and they are still growing rapidly; the downgrades came about because the change in their accounting methods has dropped their projected earnings growth from 70% to %50% per year. The only concern one might legitimately have is whether Veritas Software (VRTS) is taking market share from them. However, I think there is room for two solid players in their niche and LGTO is still attractive new accounts. By comparison, VRTS is now priced for perfection.
