If 3Com did not own Palm, I would put the value of 3COM at about an 18 PE for a market cap of about 8 billion (I may be a little pestimistic). This would put Palm market cap at about 8 billion if we assume the current price of 3COM is fairly valued. Is 8 billion reasonable, too low/high? With Palm's sales for the last year, what would be a reasonable P/S ratio for Palm? How do we value this?
