It's a beautiful sunny day in Austin, too. SUNW is down about $13, or 15%, from its intraday all time high. I suppose that could qualify as "beat up."

Interestingly (to me, at least), Compaq seems to say they see the shift to thin-client computing that Dell denied seeing a few days ago: dailynews.yahoo.com "However, consumer PCs, which saw rapid growth in 1999 are likely to decelerate in 2000, Capellas said, growing between 12 and 17 percent." ... "Rick Schutte, a financial analyst with Goldman Sachs, ... said he found particularly convincing the company's argument that the Internet market was shifting to Compaq's broad mix of powerful transaction-handling computers, Web servers and Internet access devices." JMHO.
