Re: news.semiconductoronline.com

In the midst of the otherwise somber mood for the 300-mm shift, Semiconductor 300, the joint venture between Infineon Technologies and Motorola, announced last week it has begun shipping its first products, 64-Mbit DRAMs, from its 300-mm fab in Dresden, Germany, at geometries below 0.25 micron.

Nice to know that Motorola will be in year 2 or 3 of production experience with 300mm wafers when it (and its technology licensee AMD) transition to 300mm copper .13-.10 (and both will also have had copper experience).

Regards,

Dan
