i'm not the expert on the strategy, but I believe it is as far OTM as you can find. I believe the strategy is meant to uncover the home-runs. so my guess is you'll lose money on the majority of your long options (say, 90%), but the other 10% (hopefully) will just go wild. this is why I don't think playing the VL5 list will net you much, because altho it may help you sleep better w/ equal numbers on the short side, I can't see how you could make more on your short than long even if we have a major tank... stocks can only go to zero. i guess anything is possible tho... the mkts have a way of proving everyone wrong
