The bell, the mouse and the cheese: Pavlov moved on from dogs to mice. His findings, (carefully documented by Doc Kronkite) are directly applicable to the market and the "buy the dip" strategy that's worked so well. Pavlov rang a bell, the mouse would scurry out, see the cheese, eat the cheese then take a nap until he heard the bell again. The market has a nice run, starts to tank, the investors/traders hear the bell, buy 'em, (eat the cheese) take a nap until they run up so they can be sold again.
Looks like we're all waiting to buy the dip. It's a great strategy; until it doesn't work. That's when the "dip" becomes more than a dip...it becomes a big dip. Is this "dip" different. For some stocks it already is, for others it isn't. Watch the Watch-List and E/P's. (Lee)
