Hi Steve, Yes,losses in IRA's are just that - losses. Your advice is correct as far as I've ever heard.

Added 10% to my VTSS inventory at $41-5/8 while out of town. (good 'til cancelled order filled) I was attending The Money Show in Orlando, FL. Cool was not only the temperature, but many of the speaker's comments. Consensus was 0.50% interest rate hike by FED coming soon; 2000 to be trading range market; 2001 to be tough market.

One point of significance was that margin debt is at a record high. This is going to add to market volatility for some time until the accounts get back to more normal levels.
