I was just looking at the SmithKline & Glaxo press release announcing their proposed merger. In bold letters at the top of the page is the statement that this press release must not be viewed in Canada. Why not? What Canadian law might be broken? How do these Canadian laws affect the timely announcement of a merger/takeover of Newbridge?

Around March 15, Siemans is spinning off 30% of its semi business and ends up with about another 2 billion in cash. Nobody seems to know the precise details of Siemans long term business plan. I think they already have a couple billion cash, and their stock has more than doubled in last year.
