<<Encouraging so far. I took a look at inventories from the Q reports. Here is a summary.>>

Good analysis....I took a quick look at the relative revenue numbers these inventories are supporting and there is substantial improvement excepting Seagate. I suspect that some of this inventory improvement reflects push backs on to component suppliers just as the box makers pushed theirs back on to the drive suppliers.

I was not able to find a higher density than 4.6gb per platter in Fujitsu drives. Others on the thread may have better sources or search methods than I do.

<I took a look at inventories from the Q reports>

Also, the channel inventory is down (inventory at distributors). I heard several conference calls where they quoted how cautious they are about making too many drives. The manufacturers are watching their production a lot closer this year. They have a much closer relationship with distributors.

Regards,
Mark

<<Have you seen any products in stock in the "MPF"
family that was announced late last year ? I have not found any. The reason I repeat the question is that it may
be an indicator that Fugitsu does not intend to stay in the market.>>
If they're planning to drop out, this current improvement in conditions isn't helping any. Would be very good news for all DD and for HTCH to see them leave the desktop.
