I would opt for a TFT screen over the dual scan technology for trading.

Thanks for the input. There are a lot of thinks to consider and I am just getting started. $800 is a lot more to pay for a better screen..although the extra speed would be an advantage too. I have already contributed several $3000 bills to the computer world for my old 486 machines...I am hoping to avoid more $ to the R&D departments.

$1200 was the lowest cost 64 MB machine I found...I figure I will probably have to go a little higher. I have to avoid my tendency to buy the best. That is what I did when I bought the 486<g>

What kind of mouse does the Think Pad have? The old ones had that tiny ball in the middle of the keyboard...I used one for a while and found it difficult.

One thing that caught my eye on the Sony was the touch pad? I have never used one but it looked easier to use than that little ball.
