Interesting parallels between Cisco and NTAP. One of the things that's always struck me about Cisco is that they are "technology agnostic" -- they don't do that much in-house r&d, and they don't become evangelists of any specific technology (other than ip networks in general). They prefer to just buy companies that have the technologies that work.

Does NTAP have a similar philosophy?

Hisham, thanks for that link.

It's good to see the founders are still enthusiastic -

"Hitz doesn't seem worried. Instead, he points out that he and the other two founders have stayed with the company because it's still interesting. As he puts it, "The fun is just beginning.""

Did anyone notice this little gem? Seems that NTAP may have some insight into what EMC may be doing WRT NAS:

Hitz said Network Appliance had been looking for a place to establish an East Coast engineering office and decided to make it the Triangle when officials met Joanna Karwowska. Karwowska, who is now the company's director of software development, had been working for Data General but jumped at the chance to come work for a company with "a hot technology."
