<<So, at this point someone here mentioned that the cable and gas lines were being laid together yet my title searcher friend says no way, gas and cable must be separated from each other and the Williams plans do not show them together.>>

Lynn: I believe that the perceived value in many of these utility company<>fiber optic plays is the property easements in place, rather than laying the "pipes" together. If you are interested in Williams, you might want to check recent (last few months) news about their deal with MFNX.

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for the followup post. It is possible that Williams Communication Group has that particular route covered with a FO cable on a different right of way.

Your title company friend is correct in that there needs to be some separation of the high-pressure gas line from other services. However, Williams is most certainly running fiber optics strands on the same rights-of-way that they use for natural gas lines. Perhaps not in a joint trench, as is often the case in the last mile, where one trench will often serve for water, sewer, telco, and electrical feed. (All with suitable Code-specified separations.)

Re: ....in frount of my house, some Williams company is going to lay cable but no gas line.....
This is the spinout company, Williams Communications Group, (WCG:NYSE).

Best, Ray
