My neighbor's mother is an example of that. But she has a reason to not give up her home. In her mind she only becomes terminal when she doesn't have a place to return to. Ish, this statement is so important. So often, the children and younger friends and relatives do not realize the psychological implications and argue "practicalities." They don't seem to understand how important a lifeline a person's home is. When my mother said, "They carry me out of here feet first" I understood what she was telling me. Where she lived, her network of friends and family was her life.
