Jimmy,

I was referring to the inaccuracy of the estimates. Some just seem too low.

We've discussed a lot in the past (don't know if you were around) the reasons the analysts' estimates for Qualcomm were far too low. In situations like that when you've got fundamental reasons to profoundly disagree with the estimates, it's a good idea to use a range of your own estimates on which to base the calculations.

Now about your numbers ...

QCOM 2.13 for 7 quarters (TTM .60)
CREE 1.39 for 6 quarters (TTM .59)
GMST .79 for 6 quarters (TTM .39)
NTAP .77 for 6 quarters (TTM .31)
JDSU 1.28 for 6 quarters (TTM .43)
CSCO 2.04 for 7 quarters (TTM .82)

I didn't check all of those numbers, but I did check the three stocks I own. My numbers from Zacks:

QCOM $1.34 (TTM $.77)
GMST $.56 (TTM $.38)
CSCO $1.27

Remember that in the case of Gemstar, a true picture of that company's estimates and trailing earnings should also incorporate TV Guide's numbers using a profile of the merged entity. That's not easy to do, but it is possible if you want to take the time.
