OT, Heinz, Eddy, I hope things in Austria will turn out less negative than people fear. Undoubtedly, the FP will become more moderate if they accept government responsibility. Still it's a shame as it adds to a series of incidents (Waldheim etc.). It always strikes me how much political success depends on the personalities and charismatic qualities of the politicians. Haider has a lot of charisma and rhetoric qualities. Here in the Netherlands, the leader of the extreme right-wing party is a fool almost no sensible person (even most fools) would want to identify with. A broom has more charisma than he and when he speaks one laughs one's head off. Moreover, as a result of internal quarreling they disappeared from parlement altogether after the last elections. Had they had a charismatic leader however, they'd at least still be in parlement I think.
