I heard rumor Irish Republican Army (IRA) and UNIBOMBMER ordered those VLNC batteries -- they said it's better than theirs after reading the SF Chronicle article last Nov.

It should be a great IRA Xmas gift sent to John Major in a QCOM cell phone, or a G* phone.

Since VLNC makes those batteries in Ireland, IRA have checked their quality and saved their delivery fees as well -- and no custom to check their "batteries" orders.

Unfortunately, the batteries had a few problems. They sparked and exploded and burned. One burst into flames so intense that it melted through the factory's tile floor and into the concrete foundation. A senior company engineer said carrying a battery was like having ``a bomb in your pocket.'
