To All, Put update. So far this morning, Abbey Jo's stab at touting up IBM because bad business is good for the stock doesn't seem to be sticking. Ditto for Barron's psalm of love for Dell, though their Compaq scamarama seems to be having some impact. Safeguard Scientific is a mildly volatile stock. 170 one day, 130 the next, back to the mid 160s, then back to the mid 130s. It is fun. I don't have much of a position here, but it is interesting. The Latin phone cos. are finally getting a mild dose of reality. For some reason, Intel has ticked up on lower pc sales and losing market share. Maybe the portfolio is doing so bad that they have to take some more gains to pad eps. <g>
