Nikkei turns higher, shrugging off Wall St
TOKYO, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Tokyo's key Nikkei average bounced back in early afternoon trade on Monday, as investors focused on the lift expected from a major investment trust fund rather than Wall Street's losses, traders said.

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the benchmark Nikkei average was up 56.95 points or 0.29 percent at 19,491.73 at 0350 GMT, after being down throughout the morning session.

The March futures contract <0#JNI:> was up 70 points to 19,450.
