Interesting news but do you know what Unicom's market share in China is? I remember Tero writing something a while back to the effect that their market share is small (relative, of course, in the case of China). The implication being that a deal with the no. 1 Telco company would be more impressionable. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

China Telecom (which recently renamed their cellular division China Mobile) is definitely the number one telecom company in China....unfortunately they are comitted to GSM. However China Unicom seems to be doing better recently....they increased their market share from 5% to 11% last year (dont know if this is a % of subs added last year, or a % of the overall market). The government in China seem committed to increasing competetition in the telecom space which is one reason why China Unicom will be building a competing nation-wide CDMA network (we hope)....
