Newbridge Networks to Re-Sell Filter Products
from mPhase Technologies

Products allow telcos to provide telephone service, high-speed
Internet access and video over the same copper line

NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2000-- mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB:XDSL), the leading
designer of broadcast digital television and high-speed data solutions for the telecommunications industry, and Newbridge
Networks Corporation (NYSE:NN - news), a leading provider of networking solutions, today announced that Newbridge
Networks will re-sell mPhase's filter products, including the POTS Splitter Shelf and Splitter Card. The partnership enables
Newbridge Networks to equip central offices with products that ensure efficient, clear and uninterrupted telephone service
in conjunction with both high-speed Internet access and video, all over the same copper line.

''Establishing world-class partnerships is critical to the continued growth of our company,'' said Ronald A. Durando,
president and CEO of mPhase Technologies. ''By entering into this agreement with Newbridge Networks, we are
solidifying our position as a leader in the DSL solutions provider market. Our filter products will enable Newbridge
Networks to meet the growing needs of its impressive list of customers, which includes 350 of the world's largest
telecommunications service providers.''

''Our goal is to provide telcos with the highest quality products in the industry,'' said Ron Coleman, director of corporate
contracts (OEM) of Newbridge Networks. ''mPhase's filter products enable telcos to save money and valuable resources
by utilizing the existing copper infrastructure to deliver voice, video and Internet access. By delivering the latest in access
solutions, we are able to strengthen our relationships with our customers and give them the competitive advantage.''

About the Filters

mPhase's new filter products have been tested by Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore). The POTS Splitter Shelf
resides at the telco central office and separates the voice signals from the data signals eliminating the risk of data frequencies
interfering with telephone services. mPhase developed its POTS Splitter Shelf to address these issues by providing the
highest degree of efficiency and using the smallest amount of central office space, while remaining passive. mPhase's central
office POTS Splitter Shelf has the highest port density in the marketplace, enabling maximum efficiency, while utilizing
minimal space.

The In-Line Filter (similar to a phone jack adapter) ensures DSL signals do not conflict with voice signals at the customer
premises. It comes in the Basic (2 wire) model and the Ultra (4 wire) model, and works with both G.Lite and full-rate DSL.
mPhase's NID Splitter is also a customer premises filter, but is installed directly into the network interface instead of the
phone jack. Both filters provide a highly efficient method for ensuring high-quality and uninterrupted voice service.
