Tell me what PC manufacturer buys 1000 units at a time? Maybe some local computer store. A small one.

Try 1,000,000 units at a time.

And they don't buy "units". They buy licenses. They don't get CDs. They don't even get the manuals from Microsoft. (They buy them, separately, from a Microsoft-approved printer. Some get approval to print their own.)

You are undoubtedly referring-to the price that retailers pay for Windows. You are probably looking at an Ingram catalog. I assure you, no retailer actually pays those prices.
