Thanks for your reply and views on taxman's strategy.
IMO, one of the reasons it works for him (other than that we've been in a runaway bull mkt as I mentioned) is that he's consistent at implementing it. I think if one were to take occasional potshots at it, one would get haphazard results at best.
I'm in the slow process of backtesting... I'm not in a hurry to implement the strategy for myself as I have lots of time to make money off of it should it pan out.
I have no doubt that the technique works well for taxman, but some strategies work better for some than others.

btw, if I had to depend on my mailman to get me something on time for a trade, I would be in the poorhouse. I routinely get mail anywhere from a day to a week late. or get mail from several streets over or my neighbors.

speaking of which... I wonder when the SEC will allow email delivery of trade confirmations? I can just imagine the daytraders and the streams+reams of mail they get daily from their broker.
