Sounds like a good chance it will. The biggest motivation to push this deal through soon are the prospects of the launch of China Unicom's listing of its shares.China Unicom would like the print in there prospectus to read CDMA as its chosen technology. The international investment community realizes finally that CDMA will smoke the competing GSM system already in operation in China. The competition that a very large CDMA system in China orginating from the new competitive Unicom will be pushed and ushered in by the goverment.Unicom needs to move faster then it has in the past if it is to stop the current loss of market share that is occuring due to the delay in the deployment of CDMA.Once CDMA is deployed nationwide in China there will be a a large churn towards Unicom's new CDMA system by the current GSM users as the business model for CDMA allows for a discounted fee to the subscriber because of the large capacity potential.
