Phoenix Open/David Duval/'Pacific Rim' Did anyone notice the commercial over the weekend (for Schwab I think) where David Duval mentioned 'Pacific Rim' as a not particularly desirable investment? Maybe Pacific Rim was simply a generic term for an area - but it seemed to me that was definitely what he said. Maybe someone was injecting a note of caution into a situation where a stock is soaring on the basis of grab samples with nary a hole drilled?!

A brief update from Barb Henderson at PFG.

Road Construction update:
Next release will be out in mid-Feb and will include an update on further sampling and road construction status. Road constuction is starting this week (road building equipment is being moved in), a land lease is getting close to being finalized and the agreement is close enough that they are now able to move ahead. Initial road construction is expected to take 4-6 weeks, thats when they get into the heavy blasting. It is expected they will finally be able to bring in mining analysts around late March/early April for a show of the property.

Cordilleran Roundup:
Cordilleran Roundup presentation by Tom Shrake was well attended (more than 1,500 people). Barb will add his speach to the Pacrim homepage as soon as she can.

Financing:
Barb reiterated that if/when a financing were to take place it would be small and could take any of a number of forms (rights offering, special warrants, block of shares, private placement etc.). Additionally, she stated that if a financing were to happen, it would take place at a time when the price finds some stability, perhaps some time later when we move closer to drilling.

The property:
On discussing the National Post article with Barb she informed me that none of the geologists (including tom Shrake) had ever seen an anomaly this large ... and between them they had seen/discovered a lot of properties. She mentioned the fact that of over 3,600 samples taken only 6 had no gold . This is "extremely unusual" she said. I asked if she had received any news on further sampling, new zones etc. at Luicho. As yet she has heard nothing, they have been busy with the Cordilleran Roundup, Tom is currently in Aspen Colorado with Deutschbank and has a number of other meetings and she has not touched base with any of the geologists as yet.

Barrick:
There have been no meetings with Barrick regarding Diablillos or Luicho and none are scheduled. She did say about a week ago a Barrick representative (higher up than the Barrick person heading up the Diablillos project) was in for a visit and seemed surprised to hear that PFG had not heard any news. He left them with the impression he would look into it.

All for now!

Nexus,

The $4.40 share price mentioned in the article and the comment by CMS "I'm betting with my wallet." would lead me to believe this is the absolute floor price ... but time will tell.
