heinz: "on Friday we had a lot more sell side imbalances than usual...if anything, these data seem to work well as a short term (i.e. 1 day) contrary indicator." Was that Friday afternoon? If so, I think it is a good non-contrary indicator for the first couple of hours - don't you? No way could we use em for anything longer. Rather, they show some end of month buying today. Question is, how long will this bounce last?
