So why is Audible paying $33mil over 3 years? I don't know why! Trust me. But, William might. He might also be able to tell us how Audible will be able to afford it.

glenn - this mailing list has translated into $200 million worth of deals in the past two weeks. audible, greenlight, and drugstore. i'm sure there will be a lot more suckers to come. actually, it's probably better for these companies to throw the money at amazon then waste it on a stupid tv ad.

i've never been a fan of amzn's retail op but if they can continue to get companies to pay for placement then who knows.
