Nixon was a brilliant complicated man. And actually I think Reagan was every bit as much of a lying crook as Nixon- but Nixon took it to heart. Nixon was fatally flawed, a true classic figure of tragedy, but then I find that interesting.

And it comforts me to know you have such a low opinion of Nixon. I am of the opinion that if you do not approve of my opinion that is actually a confirmation of the validity of my position. So thanks for the confirmation and keep up the good work.

She didn't say she liked Nixon better, she said she respected him more. There is a difference. Nixon was hard to like, but even his enemies respected him.

I disliked Nixon intensely, but if nothing else I have to respect his decision to grant diplomatic recognition to China. We seldom see a politician giving reality precedence over ideological conviction.
