I think your numbers are wrong due to the divestment of overlapping territories. Also, the more important numbers flowing from this move have to do with SBC, Detroit (telematics), Latin America (mostly TDMA) and a key demographic immigration trend over the next few decades.

The companies agreed to divest overlapping cellular properties, which are in Chicago, St. Louis and central Illinois. Press reports have Ameritech shopping its properties privately, with a $2.5 billion price tag. Ameritech's CDMA networks also cover Detroit, Milwaukee, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
