Mr. Howard Pearl reports
Chapters Online Inc., the Canadian e-commerce company that operates
www.chapters.ca and www.gardencrazy.com, leading Canadian destinations for
on-line shoppers, has selected Microforum and Microsoft Consulting Services
to help design and develop a new Web site targeted at the Canadian home and
garden market. The launch date, name and URL for the new Web site have not
been disclosed, but Chapters Online has announced it will be created as a
leading Canadian on-line destination for home and garden products and
information.
The site will feature the same leading-edge technology, superior design and
customer focus which have become the trademarks of Chapters.ca, Canada's
premier e-commerce Web site. The continual improvement of the Chapters.ca
Web site has also involved Microsoft and Microforum working as a joint team
with the developers from Chapters Online.
"The home and garden industry represents a great market opportunity and has
been identified as a priority for Chapters Online in our continuing effort
to offer our customers additional products and services," said Rick Segal,
president, Chapters Online Inc. "In line with our commitment to the
Microsoft platform, we chose Microforum for their proven expertise and
experience to build scalable e-commerce solutions, and their excellent
track record in working with our team."
"This project further strengthens our relationship with Chapters Online and
Microsoft," said Howard Pearl, president and chief executive officer,
Microforum Inc. "We are excited to have the opportunity to work with them
in the continuing enhancement and expansion of their highly successful
on-line initiatives."
"We are pleased Chapters Online and Microforum continue to select our
platform to develop market leading e-commerce solutions," said David
Daniels, manager, e-Commerce, Microsoft Canada. "This is another solid
example of Microsoft's solutions expanding the depth of e-commerce
offerings in Canada, ultimately benefiting consumers."
