JDSU grows 25% sequentially==0.44 a share for the next Dec. Q. and 1.14 a share for Dec. 2001 Q. This stock will be 1000 a share in 3 years.

OT OT Jon, imo JDSU's value to the investment community is in the 'eye of the beholder'. (That doesn't tell you anything, does it?)

Seriously, you 'nailed it' when you talked about the possibilities for future growth that are 'not now taken into consideration' -- and that you need to do 'dd' on.

I, personally, will NEVER sell my JDSU, unless the fundamentals of the company change. Why -- because it is my belief that 5 years from now the share price will be far greater than its current 'all time high', and I can't think of another place to put my money that will give me 'more bang for my bucks' -- except, of course, other stocks that I feel the same way about.

Wishing you well,

dc

Jon,

LOL! You guys harp on the people who got whipsawed out of QCOM due to them not fully understanding the QCOM story. Well, I think the same thing might have happened to you here with JDSU.

Do a PEG comparison on Q and J. Granted J is not cheap nor is Q, but J is growing earnings at a CONSERVATIVE 75% per year and more like 100% a year (and there ain't no "slump" coming...JK)

Seriously, J can not manu product fast enough. Nice position to be in. I am not making a prediction but I would just hold a position in this beast. It is my #1 holding.

Happy Hunting!

"I was hoping to get some input, thoughts, opinions ... because I hope to be back in JDSU at some point in the future. "

I rode JDSU from a p/e of 27 to its current level. I sold all a couple of weeks ago somewhat below the high. My reasons for selling include: a stock with a p/e of 200 requires perfection in everything and everything is not perfect in the overall economy/Fed policy. I like you will be back in at some point in the future when, presumably, the p/e will be closer to the historical norms for such fast growing companies.

Ciao,
David Todtman

The market is run by the fund managers...and currently many of them want to show that they are in the hottest stocks in the hottest sectors. Regardless of the "fundamentals" as we know them. Up to last year I sold many, many stocks because I thought they were fundamentally overvalued. Big mistake...as you may imagine. The key to making money on Wall Street imo is understanding how the game is played. That said, the game DOES change.
