the funny thing is that the tow-truck driver who buys an island ad was from **MORGAN STANLEY DISCOVER BROKERAGE**, *not* from online brokers like ETrade, SCh, AMtd and the like.

"WASHINGTON (AP) - Remember the TV ad with the tow-truck driver who traded stocks online with a big brokerage firm and made enough money to buy his own island?
The Federal Trade Commission is reviewing a complaint by a traditional brokers' group that advertising by Internet brokerages lures investors with unrealistic promises of quick riches and unfairly attacks full-service rivals."

this paragraph above here is so funny, the truck driver ad was from Morgan Stanley Discover Brokerage, a "traditional broker"!
they are complaining against ads placed by themselves!
and the way the jerknalists twist facts is almost allucinogenous.
i mean, what are they smoking?

to tell you the truth, i never thought this war would get so DIRTY

wanna see a company with $ 36 million in annual revenues and an $ 18 billion market cap the other day?

Infospace (INSP)

it's a scrappy portal (yep, another one, there's no competition in that space...) who also sells yellowpage listings and other assorted sh-t to other portal wannabes (i guess that makes it a B2B red hot...).

the CEO is some ex-MSFT guy who once said he was smarter than Bill Gates.

this stock is a wallst "darling".

it's not profitable either, and with the current price/sales ratio of 400 and something, i don't think it has many chances of getting there soon

this company was highly touted by Briefing and other monkeys not so long ago
