SDL Inc. (SDLI) said its terrrestrial and undersea fiber optic markets drove its latest fourth quarter revenue up 92%, triggering a 282% net income growth.

SDL said revenue from its fiber optic communications products grew by 179%. The company said it had 40% sequential growth in all three of its major markets: terrestrial, undersea and metro/cable.

SDL said more than 50% of its fourth quarter communications revenue came from products first introduced into production last year.

The company said its believes these products and new ones planned for launch in March, will continue to broaden its customer base and support strong growth into the future.

SDL provides products that help power data transmission, voice and Internet information over fiber optic networks.
