<<Are there risks? Sure. Do the potential rewards justify the risk? In this man's opinion they do. And it seems MIT agrees that being associated with Nanovation is a good thing. The underwriters are big name companies. All investment comes down to a risk/reward analysis. I like the odds on this one.>>

Neal: I sure like the odds on this one too....STFZF is now one of my top 3 positions (I bought most of the shares in the last 24 hours in the low 20s). The next 6-9 months should be quite a ride, IMO. I feel that Nanovation could possibly be valued like a SCMR, JNPR or AKAM soon after its IPO. Lets hope that Morgan Stanley is truly the lead underwriter. They have THE BEST track record in the IPO business. Watch Avenex (AVNX) as it hits the market later this week. I think it will be a real barnburner. Too bad there isn't an easy way to get into that offering..!!

Best Regards,

Scott

Firms in the Optical Networks area are seeing their IPO prices at the VERY HIGH end of the range. Demand couldn't be better. Check out this new info. on Avenex -- a firm that Morgan Stanley will take public this week...

Avanex's IPO price range skyrockets to $28-$30/shr

WASHINGTON, Feb 2 (Reuters) - The price range for Avanex Corp.'s initial public offering of six million common shares increased to $28-$30 per share from $13-$15, the maker of photonic processors said on Wednesday.

Avanex, whose processors are designed to boost the performance of optical networks, predicted it would make about $159.8 million in net proceeds if the stock sold for $29 each.

That compared with the $76.1 million in net proceeds it figured on making if the shares went for $14 each.

The Fremont, Calif.-based company disclosed the boosted price range in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

It has applied to trade the shares on Nasdaq under the symbol (NasdaqNM:AVNX - news).

Concurrently with the IPO, Avanex will directly sell 384,615 shares each to Microsoft Corp. (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) and MCI Worldcom Venture Fund, an affiliate of MCI WorldCom Inc. (NasdaqNM:WCOM - news), the filing said.

The purchase price on those shares is $13 each, it added.>>
