A pineapple flag? Really? For me? Be still, my heart! What season is a pineapple flag usually displayed? You are correct, it was a small collection that I received, the picking of which was personally supervised by my nephew. His oversight was of vital importance lest his mother accidentally pass along one that he treasured.

As a result, I now have an extraordinary kite-flag (with life-like tail, no less); a Halloween flag featuring the usual suspects: bats, cats, and a witch; an unusually festive Thanksgiving banner highlighting three ears of maize; and the de rigueur butterfly - this one a monarch.

In keeping with tradition, it is my intention to fly the Halloween flag in April, the Thanksgiving banner for the 4th of July, the butterfly in Autumn and the kite at Christmas. The cat flag will be run up the pole each morning after an overheard cat fight, as a plea for neighborhood peace and harmony.
