In Austin the major component suppliers have warehouses clustered around the Dell factory buildings (and within a mile radius or so). It is true that they don't have their own factories there for the most part, just warehouse and local contact offices. I read that in Nashville there was also a scramble for suppliers to get space near the factory complex. Still, it is the internet that notifies the suppliers when to drive another truckload of parts over.
