Globe says Ballard selloff overdone Ballard Power Systems Inc BLD Shares issued 83,799,377 Jan 31 close $93.00 Tue 1 Feb 2000 In the News The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Feb. 1, edition that Ballard Power Systems advanced $11.10 to $93 on the Toronto Stock Exchange yesterday. The Globe's Market Movers column reports that investors looking for a buying opportunity in stocks of fuel cell makers found it last week. Ballard fell 27 per cent over five sessions. Yesterday many investors decided the selloff had been overdone. After the market closed on Friday, Ballard said it plans to raise $200-million (U.S.) in a share offering to pay for product development. It said recently that it would make smaller, more powerful fuel cells and build a $350-million factory.
