By the way, Charles, when I initially posted the pro- slavery tract, I wasn't intending to start another argument about the Civil War. I just thought it was a kookie expression of the paternalistic point of view, and found it interesting that some Leftists liked it as a critique of capitalism. I should have been clearer, I mainly wanted to get out the crack about the "liberal plantation". Anyway, when you took it the way you did, I thought maybe another argument about the Civil War was due, and went with that.....
