Let's have a round of applause for Ramsey!! As Our Man In China (OMIC henceforth) he finally got the job done. It took a few years, and some back door manipulation with Bill over WTO, but when you look at the bottom line, the deal got done. Now let's hope you didn't give these Q ASICS away for free Ramsey.

Gosh. At least I wasnt' thinking that my next job would be with pacbell.

My understanding from talking to many people in the industry is that
Qualcomm's patent position for CDMA 2000 is stronger than its position for
wide band CDMA. That's why Qualcomm is pushing cdmaOne so hard. I took your
kind advice and confirmed that with several senior people from Ericsson
(China) Co., as well as Motorola.

cheers, matt.

Am I to understand from the China Unicom press release, that China will manufacture QUALCOMM ASICS and not there own? That would be an interesting compromise.
